This will be an open discussion on zoom (and will not be recorded) to discuss the career pathway of the assistant role. Joanne will lead with a bit about herself followed by her pathway to becoming EA to the CEO of first direct. Then we will open up to a discussion with the group including any questions.
About Joanne
With over 24 years of experience working in the Financial Services industry, I have provided high-level admin support across multiple business areas, including, Digital Solutions, Customer Experience, and Learning & Development, and for the last 8 years as Executive Assistant to the CEO of first direct.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a comprehensive skill set that covers all facets of assistant work. Starting as a Team Administrator, then Personal Assistant to Executive Assistant.
Beyond my day-to-day role, I am a passionate advocate for the Assistant profession. From 2020 to 2023, I proudly served as Co-Chair of the HSBC Assistants Network Committee, where I helped connect, develop and support assistants across HSBC, first direct, and M&S Bank in the UK. I have also been a proud member of The PA Hub for a number of years. I love to network!
Outside of work I am happily married to Steve and have two children, Abigail and Alfie. I also volunteer as Event Director of Pontefract parkrun and an Event Support Ambassador for parkrun.
